Yonola Olani Cho, 67, of Kealakekua died Oct. 21, 2013. She was born June 13, 1946, in Honolulu.
A celebration of life will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 at Honaunau Beach.
She is survived by sisters, Abigail (Victorino) Bio of San Antonio, Charlene Taketa of Kawanui; several nieces and nephews.

Virginia Mathison
Virginia “Sister Matt” Trelma Mathison (Kelch), 86, of Volcano died Oct. 16, 2013, at her residence. Born June 22, 1927, in California, she co-directed the Pentecostal Children’s Home in Alaska before filling the pulpits of various churches on Oahu and the Big Island, including Kona Gospel Chapel in Kealakekua, Haleiwa Assembly of God and Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Hilo. She also co-founded Volcano Assembly of God.
Friends may call at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Volcano Assembly of God for a service. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery in Hilo. Family requests aloha attire be worn and no flowers. Any gifts or contributions may be made to Volcano Assembly of God, with “Missions” indicated in the memo.
She is survived by daughters, Susan (Mike) Bryant of Volcano, Linda (Casey) Cochran of Georgia; son, Kenneth Mathison of Arizona; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hiromi Hatada, 94, of Hilo died Oct. 19, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 8, 1919, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Fujinkai.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
She is survived by husband, Shunichi Hatada of Hilo; sons, Wesley Hatada of Hilo, Maurice Hatada of Honolulu; daughter, Frances Sadayasu of Hilo; brothers, Kiyoshi Matsuoka of Anaheim Hills, Calif., Hisashi Matsuoka of Hilo; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

Tyrone Reinhardt
Kahu Tyrone Lee Kealiiaimoku Reinhardt, 73, of Waimea died Sept. 27, 2013, at home. Born Sept. 12, 1940. in Waipahu, he retired from United Church of Christ as a minister.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at Imiola Congregational Church in Waimea for an 11 a.m. service. Inurnment will be at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 10 at Ka Home Maha Mau Cemetery on Maui. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

Edward Lee Oakley, 66, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 8, 2013. Born Sept. 6, 1947, in Pittsburg, Calif., Oakley worked in the construction field and was a bartender for the Hilton Waikoloa for 10 years.

Gilbert Wiggins
Gilbert Webster Wiggins, 71, of Hilo died Oct. 15, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 1, 1941, in Newport News, Va., he was a pawn broker, a Vietnam War Army and Air Force veteran who earned a Purple Heart and three Bronze Star Medals and member of the American Legion Post 432 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3875.

Ernest Moerlien
Ernest Donald Moerlien, 88, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 3, 2013, at his residence. Born Aug. 24, 1925, in Granite City, Ill., he was a retired auto body business owner and World War II Navy veteran.

Kazuko Kuriyama Borish, 81, of Paauilo died Oct. 10, 2013, at her residence. Born in Tokyo, she was a retired secretary and Paauilo Kongoji Mission and Thursday Senior Handicap Bowling League member.

Justin Elmer Smith, 38, of Ocean View died Sept. 15, 2013, in the Kona Community Hospital. Born March 19, 1975, in Portland, Ore., he was a construction laborer.

Nalani Markell
Nalani Eleanor Rita “Lani” Markell, 50, of Hilo died Oct. 11, 2013, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born in Honolulu, she was a legal assistant with the state Attorney General’s Office, a freelance artist and photographer and member of the Kaumana Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association, The Ship for World Youth No. 1 and Hawaii Government Employees Association.
Private services will be held on Oahu.
She is survived by parents, Elliott Markell Jr. and Mona Markell, both of Volcano; sister, Moana Molale of Hilo; brother, Elliott Markell III of Honolulu; three nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
